Step-up SIP Calculator: increase your SIP every year
A step-up SIP raises the monthly amount by a fixed percentage every year, in line with a growing income. This calculator shows the effect of that yearly increase compared with a flat SIP.
How it is calculated
Each year the monthly amount is the previous year amount × (1 + step-up %). Every month the balance grows by the monthly rate and the SIP is added.
Worked example
Starting at ₹10,000 a month with a 10% yearly step-up for 15 years at an assumed 12% a year gives about ₹86,83,849, compared with about ₹50,45,760 for a flat SIP.
Frequently asked questions
How much should I step up?
Many investors link the step-up to expected salary growth, for example 5% to 10% a year. Choose an amount you can sustain.
Is a step-up SIP available in every scheme?
Most fund houses and platforms offer a top-up or step-up facility on SIPs. Check with your distributor or platform.
