Retirement Calculator: how much corpus will you need?
This calculator estimates the corpus you would need at retirement to pay for your monthly expenses, adjusted for inflation, until the age you plan for. It also shows the monthly SIP that could build that corpus.
How it is calculated
Expenses are grown by inflation until retirement. The corpus is the present value of inflation-adjusted yearly expenses from retirement to the plan-till age at the after-retirement return.
Worked example
Enter your current age, retirement age, plan-till age and monthly expenses to see your own corpus and SIP. Small changes in inflation and return assumptions can change the result a lot.
Frequently asked questions
Why does inflation matter so much?
Expenses that are ₹60,000 a month today will be much higher in 25 years. The calculator grows your expenses so the corpus reflects future prices.
Does this include pensions or other income?
No. Reduce the monthly expense you enter by any pension or rental income you expect.
